The Pattern Patter Team, founded on June 7, 2011, is a team specifically for sellers of vintage and newer sewing patterns.
Currently we have 226 members, and 6 leaders. As captain, I rely on my leaders to support the team and me by taking charge of their area of expertise. Let me introduce them!
Susan from AdelebeeAnn is our social media maven. She takes care of the team’s social media accounts by posting on all of them daily.
Next, Emily from EmSewCrazy is responsible for team events. She posts the sign up threads, organizes the participants’ information, and tallies the results!
Amy from ViennasGrace is our resident Fashionista. Her knowledge of fashion terminology as well as her ability to help with dating an item is indispensable! She also is a regular contributor on the team blog with her series Sewing and the Cinema as well as other subjects.
Cloe of CloesCloset helps to manage the team page keeping it current and fresh. She also helps with tags and titles, and SEO questions from members.
Our newest leader is Barbara of FloraDoraPresents. Barbara has taken over Member Management. She reviews applications to join the team, sends new members information, and will soon be reviewing current members to make sure they are complying with requirements.
Then there is me! Mary-Beth
I write blog articles, manage the advertising for the team, write the newsletter every month, and do whatever else I can to make my team members successful.
2012 Team Spirit Award Winner!
2013 Fellowship Award Winner!
2014 Fellowship Award Winner! (x2)
Pattern Patter Team has been fortunate enough to receive three Fellowship awards, one in 2013, and two in 2014. I have had a great experience in being part of the fellowship program. I have learned so much about team management and about online communities. My favorite was the group that Kim led in 2014. I have become more self-confident and organized!
The one thing I would like to share with other sellers leaders and captains is that you can’t do everything. You need a good support team. Search out possible leaders to help make your team the very best that it can be! People like to be asked to help.
Our team deals in old, fragile, paper. Not always an easy job!
Our team mantra is Saving History One Piece at a Time.

We believe in being the change we want to see in the world, and as the eyes of the world, we communicate our needs and respectfully strive to support each other not only through Etsy, but in our personal lives, via social media, and beyond into real life. We’ve crafted a network that extends to the ends of the universe and beyond and we are truly everywhere.
We started in 2012 and within 1 month had already grown to 150 members, and now are close to 900 only a short 2 1/2 years later., We’ve also grown by our social media groups 10 fold, now boasting over 2500 in our FB group and a generous amount of supporters and followers on our Facebook Fan Page. Our blog is a hub for learning about our members and a great place for our community to look to for inspiration and real life stories of how our members have become artists, how they overcome their hardships, and showings of pride and the lovely families they are able to support. All this possible by connecting and sharing our bonds with one another.
Many Many years ago there was a great man named Jerry Garcia, and a band of forward thinking musically and socially inspired beings called the Grateful Dead. This group through it’s eclectic art, extensive touring, and can do attitude gained the love and respect of billions of us who loyally follow them from state to state, from country to country, and beyond. We’ve learned acceptance, we’ve learned that love can lead the way, and best of all, that being together makes us happy.
Life goes much further than what you see in the stores of Etsy Sellers, there is a heart and a soul in there, a person, a dream, a past, and a need to survive. We are here to be part of it all.
We are not only a Team.. we are a FAMILY and a COMMUNITY
we thrive on live music, have our fingers on the pulse of what’s new on the lot and have a vibrant group of festival and online sellers.
We offer knowledge, shared information, we provide an open daily support system for each other and everyone is invited to bring their current needs to the table for a group mind to help solve.
A team is only as strong as it’s network, captain and Leadership., I’m on many teams, Some provide information only.. some provide just a place to put your name.. some are useless, and some like the team we’ve created provide a well rounded source of support for your selling and personal lives.
we do extensive networking

When I think of Holiday Presents the first thing that comes to my mind is Santa’s elves busily working away creating toys in a room in Santa’s home called his workshop. This is why I love shopping at Etsy for the things I give to others. That feeling like there are really elves, kind family oriented ones, sitting in small workshops in their homes around the world creating things with love or acquiring things with thoughtful minds and care for all of the creatures on the earth.
I love Etsy for things I can’t make myself, especially because it’s the closest thing to that original vision I have in my head. Goodness knows it’s where all the kids of the world are shown gifts come from., not the huge corporate buildings stuffed with underpaid workers and giant commercial nuclear powered ships that brings them across the seas.
Goodness I wonder how many children would feel about that story if they put it in a cartoon for all to see.
not what we usually think of right?
I imagine someone in a workshop like this
Workshop: Krista Beller Designs Etsy Seller!

About this team
EcoChic is a team of enthusiastic vintage jewelry and accessory sellers who wish to improve shop sales while enjoying each others company. Vintage jewelry makes up the majority of the inventory in their shops. Innovative co-operative marketing methods are encouraged. Experienced, passionate, and fun loving sellers make up this group. EcoChic formed in 2010 and have around 300 members.
from her about page “Etsy is such a wonderful community, and I am so fortunate to be a part of it! I have the privilege to be a leader on two fabulous vintage teams, and I am honored to call the members my dear friends.
We Love Vintage! Do You?”
link below to read more about her many supporting roles on Etsy:
Our original Captain started our team as a place for Vintage Jewelry sellers to come together with their knowledge to support one another in an environment that was caring and non-judgemental.” The current captain and leaders have carried on this tradition of caring for each other and promoting each other’s shops. We feel like a family – a vintage family! EcoChic, to us, means sustainable fashion – items that are fashionable and beautiful, but also green and great for the environment!
“Selling Vintage can be difficult because you do not get the exposure that handmade does and staying relevant and seen is the hardest part.” Kim
We are a close knit and supportive team willing to help each other in many ways, including educating members – both new and old – about vintage jewelry and its history, supporting each other during personal difficulties and tragedies, and helping each other to promote our vintage jewels both on Etsy and within the global community through social media.
EcoChic – Promoting and preserving the history & beauty of vintage jewelry as an affordable, “green” sustainable fashion!
I think in the future we will continue to support and love each other and strive to help each member through education, help with promotion, and introduction to social media, spreading the message that vintage jewelry is a piece of history worth treasuring, saving and celebrating.
Here are some links to some of their member’s stores, we could only publish a few so remember to go to their team to enjoy their work or view through our gallery below.
Sharing a great team thread from EcoChic on doing a Blitz for Pinterest game they are playing .. great job motivating your members to use their social media!
Hi everybody! This is our Tuesday Social Media Blitz thread for Pinterest! Below are some basic instructions on how to promote your shop and your teamies’ shops!
Pinterest Daily Thread:
1. Pin the url link from Pinterest of (1) one of your shop’s items after posting it to Pinterest. Then go to Pinterest and click on one of your boards, choosing the one you want repinned by your teammates, click on the blank or white area within the pin to get the url link, then copy and paste it here in this thread.
2. Come back to the thread and reciprocate those who posted after you for the day by liking, and pinning to one of your boards, I created one just for Ecochic members items on my pinterest boards, but you can call your board whatever you like.
3. When you are done, say cuth(caught up to here) or simply (done), and post in this thread so we know you have reciprocated everyone for the day.
4. If you miss a day, don’t worry, just please keep up with the day you are posting, and re-visit at the end of the day, or asap.
Pinterest is one of the FIVE best sources of views for many shops. StumbleUpon, Google+, Twitter, and Facebook are the other four. We will be doing one Social Media site for each day of the week, so we chose these 5 sites. Lets get the biggest bang for our buck and last of all, don’t forget to have fun.

PART 1 GETTING TO KNOW YOUR ETSY LISTING OPTIONS-
How do I create and manage shop sections
Sections are a useful way to organize item listings in your shop. Your sections are displayed as links in the left sidebar of your shop. You can use sections to group together item listings by type, size, or any other category you’d like. You may have up to 10 custom sections, as well as the default All Items section that is available in every shop. To add or manage your Sections, click Your Shop and go to Sections on the left. To add a new section, click Create new section, type in the name of a new section, then click Save. A section’s name is limited to a maximum of 24 characters.
for mobile viewers this is especially important to their shopping experience! (***Sections left empty.. will not show up in your shop – USE EVERY ONE use all sections available // in mobile view it shows sections with one listing each, so your store looks empty if all your sections are not used. )))))))
To edit your sections’ names, click the pencil link next to a particular section. You can remove a section by clicking the trash can icon. Removing a section does not deactivate the listings within that section. These listings will now appear in All Items. To put your items into Sections, choose All Items on this page. Click the checkbox next to the listings you want in a specific section, then select the section name from the drop down menu and click Save. You can also move or remove listings from a section this way. Sections that do not have any item listings will not appear on your public shop page. You can only place a listing in one section. Drag and drop the move icon to change the order in which the sections appear in your shop. You can also add an individual item to a section when creating or editing the listing. There is a drop down menu for your sections below item description.
Homework: Now GO TO YOUR STORES AND SEE IF YOU HAVE USED ALL OF YOUR 10 sections.. IF NOT.. make sure you have represented all the types of items you sell and edit as needed!
SHOP SECTIONS TIP:
Want to know what the best name for your shop sections are or just might be?
Just go to your store STATS and select ALL TIME VIEWS and then scroll down and take a look at what your most searched items are under KEYWORDS.
This is a great tool That totally is worth looking at often – to know what others have typed into their search engines to find you in the past searches- (especially informative for those who have been on Etsy awhile)
I have all my 10 sections now in place and feel pretty good about it – How about you. ??
ADDING PERSONALITY TO YOUR SITE BY USING BANNERS AND PROFILE PICTURES
EASY BANNER MAKING WEBSITE for Making Etsy Banners
check out this program I found for easy banner making.. Oh my gosh I love it.. it’s easier than the way I do it in Photoshop even.
all you need is the image you want to upload or use their blanks.. add your text and details, and know the size of your banner you want to use
First, to display correctly, your Etsy shop banner will need to be exactly 760 pixels by 100 pixels in size.
– Profile pics: 75 x 75
– Item Listing photos: 800-1000 pixels wide.
– Team logo: 170 x 100
Make sure you save your banner image as .jpg, .png, or .gif file format.
To upload your banner, go to Your Shop > Info & Appearance. Click the Browse button to locate the file on your computer. Be sure to click the Save button at the bottom of the page.
We, the captains and leaders of the ETSY TEAMS FELLOWSHIP SOCIETY, have come together to provide our service to one another and to the Etsy community. To provide each other, our members and all Etsy stores a Knowledge, Education and Network Sharing Community. Together 33 original teams who have won the ETSY FELLOWSHIP AWARD have chosen to become an advanced mass promotion and co-networking group of artists and sellers on Etsy. By finding and meeting one another in the Etsy Fellowship Program we started to realize one grand thing we had in common, that we were the the guides at the front of a massive adventure in promotional and marketing for large groups of people and the knowledge and information we held as the higher ups, could not only help our members stores, but also one another in achieving our goals and our team’s goals. We are Knowledge and Experience based as a group, we will strive to teach and share what we have learned on our own, and by choice have decided to rally together to really be a tight knit Etsy community of hard working etsians who are mostly home and small business based sellers who want to change the world we live in one craft, sale, or art share at a time. As a group we believe in sustainability, in family values, and in the right for all people to be able to be treated with kindness and equality as sellers on the internet.
The Participating members are all amazing people and if you’ve been invited here your work on your teams has been acknowledged and is respected… and we congratulate you! Everyone raise your right hand.. place it on your left shoulder and pat three times
Good Job EVERYONE!
I would like to Introduce you to your FIRST LEADERS of the FABULOUS SOCIETY WE HAVE CREATED.
First on the Roster is Mary Beth from retromonkeys (PatternPatter)
Welcome Mary Beth!
She will be the Head of our Newsletter Department
(this is going to be a amazing resource where we will not only provide educational how to team posts, but we will also be reposting from the blogs you already do and networking in a family way.) She will be your editor who will decide with me what will be re-posted
Next we have Kim of Vintage Paige or – DR. Kim (EcoChic)
… ok.. well maybe she’s not a medical professional, or a real PHD, but she’s been on Etsy quite a good while and with her knowledge and experience will be the Head of our Teams Education Department
(I found by being a fellow that we all have done some dynamic work with our teams, and that many people can benefit from our personal experience.. We will make how to’s for how we do all of our social media, about campaigns to assist sellers, step by steps to learn different ways to promote, help and get your members more sales… these will all be posted here in our group and the most important of them will be used in our blog to be available for all to learn from!)
*All our fellowship team members will be part of this department as crucial contributors, any information they have to share is always welcome)
Kim Grassie Konen
Our Etsy Administration leader who will be assisting with questions team events and adding events to our team calendar. She will be inviting all of the new members from the Fellowships from here on out as a reward as they complete their fellowship quarters. A wonderful asset to this team and ETSY!
Also on our Roster of Greatness is
Norma from TrueColorsBotique (Young at Heart)
who will be always available for ANY QUESTIONS NEEDS Help GUIDANCE, CHAT, and to help guide and research throughout our adventures. I’m calling her our DEN MOTHER.. like a serority or pack of wolves..lol this is our GO-TO woman for ANSWERS! There are no dumb questions here! Anything you want to know.. just ask… we are an open forward thinking visionary group of people and are open to help with all of your needs.
Last but not least me, Jen Liput – team captain 🙂
(deadhead art alliance) and (ETSY TEAMS FELLOWSHIP SOCIETY)
Consider this like team like a sailing sea ship and I’m the captain- I will be available at all times to assist and guide the captains and leaders of the team.
I personally will be starting to work on our -ETSY TEAMS FELLOWSHIP SOCIETY TEAM MONTHLY CALENDAR – TEAM EVENTS ORGANIZATION and on EDUCATION and NETWORKING – I plan so arrange a web page where all of our teams will be represented with information about who we are, what we’re about, and provide a go to place for all of the links to our team’s services… and to see what you should be teaching your team or giving them a heads up on the current events and marketing dates
We will be introducing you to team games for promotional in team fun, we will also be providing Fellowship Games… which will allow us to take what we do on our teams, we’ll bring the links here, network, share and show the best of what Etsy and Etsy Teams have to offer. Etsy Teams in general has separated the zillions of interests of Etsians all over the world, and we will bring them back together in a unity of support.
Through this team We will accept the members from future fellowship programs, who will be invited by Etsy Administration when they win new fellowships in the future to learn and teach just as we do… sharing information is a crucial part of learning, growing, and success.
– If you are a visionary who would like to help run this team like these women and men have, apply for the ETSY TEAMS FELLOWSHIP.
We are going to be the guiding light to the Etsy teams who have won fellowships to assist in building the knowledge and support systems needed to run TEAMS on Etsy. As teams are a reflection of the Captains style of how they run their society and Interests and Passions of thousands of People, there is no one right way to run a team, BUT, we stand to support one another by sharing of our knowledge, information and techniques to exist as well as Providing an all in one place where we can refer to MONTHLY for a calendar of events to share with our teams to keep us up to date, and in the loop of crucial information that needs to be shared with our teams members and all people who love Etsy.
There are so many great happenings that get missed just because we don’t find out about them or we find out too late. We hope to bridge that gap.
We would like to thank our venue, Etsy.com and our Etsy administration Representative Kim Konen who has been here for us over the years give us the tools and pride to be the guides support system and friends we have become.
Not only is a team a place to meet like minded people and other Etsy buyers and sellers, but it’s a community we feel that should be built on mutual respect, with the goal to help one another succeed.
A group of people with a full set of complementary skills required to complete a task, job, or project.
Team members (1) operate with a high degree of interdependence, (2) share authority and responsibility for self-management, (3) are accountable for the collective performance, and (4) work toward a common goal and shared rewards(s). A team becomes more than just a collection of people when a strong sense of mutual commitment creates synergy, thus generating performance greater than the sum of the performance of its individual members.
