Happy Holidays –
We hope you enjoy the small things and special moments this holiday has to bring. Reminding you to Remember the best gift is one that someone has put thought into
This team takes working with clay to a whole new level. I’m going to do some real sharing of their creations because I am in such awe of what their imaginations have come up with in this medium.
Cups and Mugs, Bowls, Jewelry, Sculpture, Serving Trays and Kitchen Items, Wedding Decor, Home Decor, Supplies, Pet, Garden Items and More…
Ceramics is one of the most ancient industries on the planet. Once humans discovered that clay could be dug up and formed into objects by first mixing with water and then firing, the industry was born. Animal and human figurines were made from clay and other materials, then fired in kilns partially dug into the ground. In later years tiles were manufactured, functional pottery vessels for storing water and food around 9000 or 10,000 BC and thought at that time to be responsible for the creation of glass, when overheating of kilns produced a colored glaze on the pottery. Clay has done so much for humanity and art it is sure a medium to be respected and adored.
Etsy Mud Team was Founded Jun 18 2007 and is a hub for well over 1400 crafting individuals and is a Etsy Fellowship winning team.
JD Wolfe is the wonderful captain of the team and Terry Parker is the team representative who we at the Etsy Teams Fellowship Society are proud to work closely with to network and come together for multi-team events. When the founder of the team stepped down these women are 2 of the 3 individuals that stepped forward to take over the team in 2007 .
Terry – “Our team is pretty successful in maintaining a core group of active members. The active participants change over time but so far others have stepped forward to take their place. I would hope we are as active as a group 3-5 years from now and that we figure out more ways to help each other promote our businesses.”
Three things you may not know about me: 1. My husband is a childhood friend. We first met when we were 15 and reconnected and married in our thirties. He is a classically trained chef, and a big part of my life is helping him with his BBQ sauce business (Howling Wolf BBQ). http://etsy.com/shop/howlingwolfsauces 2. I used to live in a 100 year old concrete farm silo, converted into a 3 story cabin, with no running water. Living a pared down simple life really adds perspective to everything. 3. I have a passion for mid century vintage and Scandinavian design. I get a huge thrill from the hunt for forgotten treasures. I remember going to farm auctions with my Dad as a kid, and that really was the spark that started it for me. I now sell some of my finds in my vintage shop http://FaithandFranny.etsy.com ——————————————————————————————- More info about my work; I’ve been a potter for almost 20 years now, and knew the first time I tried it, that it is what I wanted to do with my life. I worked as a production potter for a large company for a year after college, and then opened my own studio/gallery near Madison, WI and operated that for almost 15 years until I started my family. I now sell my work primarily online and love sharing my work with everyone around the world. http://instagram.com/jdwolfepotteryhttp://pinterest.com/jdwolfepotteryhttp://jdwolfepottery.blogspot.comhttp://facebook.com/jdwolfepotteryhttp://twitter.com/jdwolfepotteryhttps://www.etsy.com/listing/86913072/made-to-order-nesting-cloud-plates-white?ref=shop_home_active_11
I took my first pottery class at a Community College late 1996. I’ve attended a raku pottery workshop with artist Jim Romberg in Oregon and in 2010 a workshop with Jeff Oestreich at the Archie Bray Foundation. I continue to play learn and experiment in clay and glaze mixing.
I love the organization of this team, from their website, to their FB page and all of their social media you sing with the love of clay I loved visiting your Facebook page the first post was so beautiful… it’s a photo of a child covered in clay working on a pottery wheel with a quote from Pablo Picasso. “Every child is an artist. The problem is how to remain an artist once we grow up.” -Pablo Picasso We look forward to meeting you!

Etsy Mud Team for makers of handmade pottery, clay sculpture, and other ceramic arts
Our team of the month of April is The Ladies and Gents Club. They chose this name to attract shops from the entire Etsy Community and be a place where both men and women can feel at home learning, promoting and socializing. Our team was born on April 25, 2014 and is 184 members strong and growing.
About this team:
LGC boasts that they are here to help each other to succeed. The easiest way to be a team member and learn about Etsy is to hit the floor running and jump right in! We were all new to Etsy at one time – having someone or a team to show you the ropes is a great advantage. If you want to meet people, make new friends – friends that will help you succeed – then this is the place where you can be all you want to be!
Cindyanne is the Team Captain and not only runs LGC but she is teacher, mentor, and friend. She always makes time to welcome the new team members or to help out anyone with their shop. Cindyanne trains all of the leaders. If she does not know the answer to a question you can be sure she will find it for you.
Stacey helps where ever she is needed. She sends emails, invitations, runs BNR and BNS boards and creates promotion threads and treasuries. Stacey is also the Administrator of the LGC Team page for the Etsy Fellowship Society keeping the team members’ items posted and looking awesome! She posts items and treasuries on the Ladies and Gents Club Pinterest pages.
Liz is our resident DJ on the weekly Supper Club BNR. Liz has music in her soul and is the perfect hostess of the “Name That Tune” game bringing shops together for a few hours of fun and music trivia. She hosts the Shop of the Week – always looking for a shop that needs a little extra Etsy love. Liz is the LGC Facebook
Administrator is responsible for bringing in new members and posts items from team members’ shops daily. She also coordinates the Sweet 16 Treasury Promo checking to be sure shops that sign up follow through with their commitment and follow the rules.
Deb is the Membership Coordinator and is responsible for sending welcome letters to all new members. She does a wonderful job answering questions and guiding newbies in the right direction. Deb is known as the Treasury Diva! She loves to promote both old and new team members and follows up with featured shops to invite them into the Team.
Vicky is the Administrator of the LGC Team Page. Our team page is always up to date as new items are added to shops. She promotes the LGC Team on Facebook, Pinterest and Twitter. Vicky is responsible for bringing daily chats to the team – a place where everyone can talk about what is going on in their lives in general, not just Etsy.
Sue is the team resident Coupon Clipper. She checks and adds coupons to the BNR/BNS boards, helps send invitations and is a great social chatter on the boards.
All leaders of the Ladies and Gents Club are cross-trained to be able to step up at any given time to host an event, start a discussion thread or solve problems. The leaders understand that if you put in the work, it will happen. Remember to keep things in perspective – if it won’t be important in a month or a year do not to let it get to you. LGC leadership holds a weekly Skype conference to discuss hot topics and plan upcoming events.
*
One of the main events the Ladies and Gents Club is sponsoring this year is a BRIDAL EXPO in June. This will allow the team to showcase our products specifically for Etsy customers searching for wedding and bridal items. Since June is the most popular time of the year for weddings and bridal showers we want a central location to meet those demands. Be sure to watch for more information as the time draws near.

The Ladies and Gents Club is a 6 time winner of the Fellowship Award. Cindyanne received the award in Q3, Q4 2014 and Q1 2015. Stacey received the award in Q3 and Q4 2014. Liz received the award in Q4 2014. Cindyanne, Stacey, Vicky, Deb and Sue are currently awaiting Q2 enrollment for 2015. Cindyanne has brought many ideas to the team from the Fellowship. She shares what she has learned on our discussion page and is always updating current topics. As a direct result of sharing what the leaders have learned through the Fellowship, LGC has active pages on Facebook, Twitter and Pinterest and has a strong presence in Etsyverse and the Fellowship Teams Page. Many of our discussion threads stem from conversations and blogs on the Captains Quarters Team – Shop Critiques and Tags to name a few.
LGC has promotional threads on the Team discussions page.
A few of the popular games are the ABC GAME where you post an item from your shop that corresponds with the letters of the alphabet. The FOLLOW THE LEADER GAME is a fun one where you post something from your shop that matches the color of the item before you. A few other popular threads are Post 2 Fave 5 and the Bragging Board that features team members that got caught doing something fantastic like being featured on the Etsy Trending Pages, in a blog or magazine article. LGC strongly believes in acknowledging every achievement for its team members. A popular treasury promo is FRIENDS R US where 8 current members’ shops and 8 potential members are featured. This is a great promo activity to let the community know what LGC is all about and give them a taste of the hospitality the Ladies and Gents Club has to offer. LGC has a mandatory one treasury per month, per member rule.
LGC is the known for the NAME THAT TUNE GAME. The game is played during the weekly BNR. Liz sends out a few lyrics from a song and waits for someone in the gallery to give the correct answer. One point is awarded for the correct title of the song and one point is awarded for the correct artist. In the event there is more than one artist famous for the particular song it is at the discretion of the Maestro to decide on the winner. No purchase is necessary to participate in the game and it is ok to Google your response. At the end of the night all winners are entered into a drawing by random.org for a free spot on a future BNR board.
One of the Team’s favorite blitz promos is the HEART ATTACK! LGC has a HEART ATTACK once a month to promote the shops’ new items and brings the team together for 12 hours of heart-ing, fun and fellowship. The ultimate result of the HEART ATTACK is the CPR that comes afterward – CUSTOMER PURCHASE REQUESTS! You must be a member of the team to participate in the HEART ATTACK. Come join the fun and set your stats on fire!
The LGC Team Slogan is:
“When you succeed, we succeed and when we succeed, you succeed!
The dream for the Ladies and Gents Club is to increase their membership and to help each other succeed, to be part of the new and exciting changes at Etsy and continue to grow at a steady pace with active members. LGC will remain a team that helps members both new and established, find the dream they were hoping for when they opened their Etsy shop.
Advice to other team Captains:
Be sure to acknowledge everyone for what they do, there is no deed or accomplishment too small for recognition.
As captain Alura depends on her co-captain Gwen and the other leaders to help her keep the team motivated! Here’s how they help!
The co-captain is Gwen of GwensHomemadeGifts. She is my right-hand woman! Gwen checks on the team, makes sure on one is spamming threads or being naughty. She also collects emails for me which I use for the team newsletter. She handles the membership applications as well. She does everything that I do! She’s an awesome gal all the way around and is a huge help to me!
Donna from The SnapDragonsLair takes charge of choosing the Shop of the Month and moderates the discussion thread for it. She’s a great asset to the team!
The other Leader is Alicia. She monitors the threads, and supports members. She’s a wonderful leader.
Big Etsy Blitz began in 2012 as the Etsy Contest Team. In 2014 it was given whole hearted to new Team Captain Alura and now has over 5,500 members! The purpose of this team is to promote teammates! Their name says it all, blitzing is the game! Big Etsy Blitz is a promo team, they do Heart Blitzes, View-a-thons, Post 2 Get 10, Fave Bomb the shop above, etc.
We are an active team, it’s all about playing games! We do blitzes every other week, Post 2 Heart
10, fave bomb the shop above you, view-a-thons, Treasuries and all sorts of games! Blitzing is easy to do and
easy for teammates to participate in. The purpose of the blitz is to raise stats, get views and
likes!
This team is SPECIALLY for all of us who love to blitz!
What’s a blitz?
A blitz is where we all love on each others shops!
Why?
Blitzes raise stats….promote camaraderie…sometimes even nets us a random sale!
In order to participate in the blitzes, you must be a member! We plan to continue to use blitzes
I’m hoping to get the team on to google plus, I love doing little interviews on shops which we can do live on google plus, and those video’s also save to youtube.
That is a future plan for the team. Since our members are world wide, we don’t have any local happenings. Anyhow all are welcome and we hope to see some new members jump on board the Blitz train!!!
-by Alura- We won a Fellowship Award in December 2014. We are trying to learn how to better promote our shops online through the Fellowship Program Package. I use the books received to help start threads that may interest the members.
The Buzzing Communities book is my favorite!
” As an award winning captain of a large team, my advice to other captains and leaders is to always expect the unexpected! People have often exceded my expectations! “
I love it when that happens!!
Artist Supporting other Artists!
We’ve found that as a big team… games are great way to get to know your teammates!
Australian Wandarrah is a moderated team open to both buyers and sellers living in Austrailia and New Zealand. A large team of over 1,600 members, treating each other with respect and compassion is the most important guideline of this spirited team.
The word Wandarrah is an aboriginal word meaning Meeting Place. Members support each other through thick and thin on this team. The team has also raised funds for the NSW Wildfires in 2013, and for the Street Swags in 2014. In 2014 they hosted regional meet-ups! Not a small task with the team covering 2 countries.
With such a large team, 1,675 members, you know they must have some amazing Leaders!
The Captain of the team is Cat. Her shop, Must Have Been The Cat, can be seen here:
Cat is a giving and kind soul who works hard to keep the team running smoothly.
She’s told us that she created the team because at that time there was nothing available for Australians on Etsy. She wanted it to be a supportive community for both buyers and sellers in Australia and is very proud and humbled by the amazing community that has evolved.
We provide a huge range of activities including chat, games, promo and educational resources. Everyone is kind and supportive …its like one very large functional family.
When we asked her what her goals for the team in the future this is what she said
“In 5 years I hope that our team is still going strong and continuing to offer the variety of things we do today. I hope it will have helped our team members make their shops the success they want them to be and continues to support them and give them a sense of belonging.”
We love hearing that long term dedication she has to support this group!
That is part of being a captain that many people don’t understand, it’s a long term commitment for many of us and that takes a lot of time and volunteer hours.
Her second in command is Kelly.
Kelly runs the team’s challenge treasury and is charged with maintaining the team’s curated page. Kelly’s shop can be visited by clicking the link: https://www.etsy.com/shop/ColourscapeStudios
Kaz from Kazzy Caboddles Creations runs the “Colour of the Week” treasury challenge and maintains the team Instagram account. https://www.etsy.com/shop/kazzycaboodles
Stuart from Stuart Concepts maintains a list of team member’s items that are used to create treasuries. Visit Stuart here: https://www.etsy.com/shop/stuartconcepts
Andrea from Stitch Bomb helps where ever she’s needed in addition to maintaining the Spotlight Critique thread and helping Stuart with the Members Items list. https://www.etsy.com/shop/StitchBomb
Star from Starzyia Manages the team’s Pinterest Boards as well as being a supportive leader helping wherever she can. https://www.etsy.com/shop/Starzyia
Each week the winner of the treasury challenge will get to choose an item from their shop to be the inspiration item for the next challenge. They will also be choosing the winner of the challenge.
Guidelines:
– The featured item must appear in one of the top row of the treasury
– Treasuries to be tagged with “Australian Wandarrah”, “etsyau” and “awteamchallenge”
– All 16 spots must be filled, at least 8 of those with Australian/New Zealand shops
– Post your challenge treasury in this thread to be considered
– No items from your own shop(s)
– Only ONE item per shop featured
– Winners must wait 4 week to be eligible to win again, however everyone is eligible for honorable mentions.
Please note that any Treasuries not following the guidelines will be removed from the challenge, we want this to be fair to everyone participating.
SUBMISSION DEADLINE is 9pm each Friday evening, no entries after I’ve announced the challenge is over will be admissible.
Winner will be announced over the weekend, so please make sure you check back to this thread and see if it’s you!
One of our team leaders is Ricky with Ricky’s Handiwork. He has been helping with posting games and team participation and kindly doibg Anything that I need help with.
Marcia with Cuddly Cutie Pies is our Team Treasurer. She has had many other roles on our team as well during our Fall Artisan Market held this past October 2014 making phone calls, sending emails, gathering information, etc. www.etsy.com/shop/CuddlyCutiePies
Judy with Judy’s Designs is an “unofficial” team leader. She’s like our team cheerleader. Always sharing great information and ideas. Helps with mentoring team members, etc.
We received the Selling Event Fellowship 3rd quarter of 2014 (Aug.-Oct.) We accomplished and held our first team selling event on Oct. 25th, 2014.
We’ve learned so much and especially to Remember that a team is only as strong as it’s members. Delegate tasks. The more involvement you have the more people will participate. It’s infectious.
In November we started playing games to increase views in our shop.
The first one we love is a favorite game
Each team member can post one link to an item over the course of 1-3 days depending on participation level. You must click on every single persons link and keep the browser window open for a minimum of 10 seconds. Giving them a “view”.
We also play games where we post a pin from pinterest, a tweet link, facebook post, etc. Click on link to open it, then like or share, repin, or retweet. Then click to follow through to etsy also giving the item a view from that particulair social media site.
Many of our team members have a dream of building up to full-time businesses while for others its more of a hobby or extra source of income. Right now my dream for the team is to build a strong local network of etsy shop owners that can support and learn from each other. Possibly also in the future, it would be nice to have a Monthly Market to sell our arts and crafts locally.

One from the RINGGOLD ETSY TEAM leadership to You
Keep moving forward even when team participation is down. Things cycle and you may have many ups and downs, people come and go, but don’t give up. It takes time to build a strong team with solid committed members.

All this possible by connecting and sharing our bonds with one another.
Many Many years ago there was a great man named Jerry Garcia, and a band of forward thinking musically and socially inspired beings called the Grateful Dead. This group through it’s eclectic art, extensive touring, and can do attitude gained the love and respect of billions of us who loyally follow them from state to state, from country to country, and beyond. We’ve learned acceptance, we’ve learned that love can lead the way, and best of all, that being together makes us happy.

When I think of Holiday Presents the first thing that comes to my mind is Santa’s elves busily working away creating toys in a room in Santa’s home called his workshop. This is why I love shopping at Etsy for the things I give to others. That feeling like there are really elves, kind family oriented ones, sitting in small workshops in their homes around the world creating things with love or acquiring things with thoughtful minds and care for all of the creatures on the earth.
I love Etsy for things I can’t make myself, especially because it’s the closest thing to that original vision I have in my head. Goodness knows it’s where all the kids of the world are shown gifts come from., not the huge corporate buildings stuffed with underpaid workers and giant commercial nuclear powered ships that brings them across the seas.
Goodness I wonder how many children would feel about that story if they put it in a cartoon for all to see.
not what we usually think of right?
I imagine someone in a workshop like this
Workshop: Krista Beller Designs Etsy Seller!

We, the captains and leaders of the ETSY TEAMS FELLOWSHIP SOCIETY, have come together to provide our service to one another and to the Etsy community. To provide each other, our members and all Etsy stores a Knowledge, Education and Network Sharing Community. Together 33 original teams who have won the ETSY FELLOWSHIP AWARD have chosen to become an advanced mass promotion and co-networking group of artists and sellers on Etsy. By finding and meeting one another in the Etsy Fellowship Program we started to realize one grand thing we had in common, that we were the the guides at the front of a massive adventure in promotional and marketing for large groups of people and the knowledge and information we held as the higher ups, could not only help our members stores, but also one another in achieving our goals and our team’s goals. We are Knowledge and Experience based as a group, we will strive to teach and share what we have learned on our own, and by choice have decided to rally together to really be a tight knit Etsy community of hard working etsians who are mostly home and small business based sellers who want to change the world we live in one craft, sale, or art share at a time. As a group we believe in sustainability, in family values, and in the right for all people to be able to be treated with kindness and equality as sellers on the internet.
The Participating members are all amazing people and if you’ve been invited here your work on your teams has been acknowledged and is respected… and we congratulate you! Everyone raise your right hand.. place it on your left shoulder and pat three times

Consider this like team like a sailing sea ship and I’m the captain- I will be available at all times to assist and guide the captains and leaders of the team.
I personally will be starting to work on our -ETSY TEAMS FELLOWSHIP SOCIETY TEAM MONTHLY CALENDAR – TEAM EVENTS ORGANIZATION and on EDUCATION and NETWORKING – I plan so arrange a web page where all of our teams will be represented with information about who we are, what we’re about, and provide a go to place for all of the links to our team’s services… and to see what you should be teaching your team or giving them a heads up on the current events and marketing dates
We will be introducing you to team games for promotional in team fun, we will also be providing Fellowship Games… which will allow us to take what we do on our teams, we’ll bring the links here, network, share and show the best of what Etsy and Etsy Teams have to offer. Etsy Teams in general has separated the zillions of interests of Etsians all over the world, and we will bring them back together in a unity of support.
Through this team We will accept the members from future fellowship programs, who will be invited by Etsy Administration when they win new fellowships in the future to learn and teach just as we do… sharing information is a crucial part of learning, growing, and success.
– If you are a visionary who would like to help run this team like these women and men have, apply for the ETSY TEAMS FELLOWSHIP.
We are going to be the guiding light to the Etsy teams who have won fellowships to assist in building the knowledge and support systems needed to run TEAMS on Etsy. As teams are a reflection of the Captains style of how they run their society and Interests and Passions of thousands of People, there is no one right way to run a team, BUT, we stand to support one another by sharing of our knowledge, information and techniques to exist as well as Providing an all in one place where we can refer to MONTHLY for a calendar of events to share with our teams to keep us up to date, and in the loop of crucial information that needs to be shared with our teams members and all people who love Etsy.
There are so many great happenings that get missed just because we don’t find out about them or we find out too late. We hope to bridge that gap.
We would like to thank our venue, Etsy.com and our Etsy administration Representative Kim Konen who has been here for us over the years give us the tools and pride to be the guides support system and friends we have become.
Not only is a team a place to meet like minded people and other Etsy buyers and sellers, but it’s a community we feel that should be built on mutual respect, with the goal to help one another succeed.
TEAM:
Definition
A group of people with a full set of complementary skills required to complete a task, job, or project.
Team members (1) operate with a high degree of interdependence, (2) share authority and responsibility for self-management, (3) are accountable for the collective performance, and (4) work toward a common goal and shared rewards(s). A team becomes more than just a collection of people when a strong sense of mutual commitment creates synergy, thus generating performance greater than the sum of the performance of its individual members.
